I suspect .com rules, but what other endings do well? Whats your opinion? .net .tv e.t.c. Just thinking about what domains I should consider... Cheers Martyn
I would seconded Dot Com followed by Dot Net, then Dot Biz, the rest seemed to be lagging behind, even Dot Biz will take sometime to catch up. Just to add on co.uk seemed to be catching up.
I prefer to use .org, as they are cheaper to keep registered and they rank just as well as a .com or .net. I even have good results with .us, however you cannot use private whois data with .us.
It depends entirely on your site. Usually: .com are used for general websites that doesn't belong to the other categories which are: .net for sites that has multiple sub domains or a lot of sites owned by the same person or company .org for sites that represents organizations and companies. This is used if your site has an actual company name and logo and maybe even paid staff members or something corporate like meaning it's organized properly. .biz for sites that mostly relates to online business or a transcending market trying to establish a wider range of customer and to spread the word specially good for local industries .name are for personal site and it would be good to get yours now cause a lot of people do get similar names and i think almost all .com for first names are already taken... maybe even use this as the main URL and use your .com as a redirection for this cause it really looks cool when your site says myname.name or something like that... .info for alternative .com, it's the next big thing so if in doubt or if you really want a .com but it's already taken, try .info cause it's gonna be popular sooner or later...
