I had to finally bow to the laptop because of portability, and wherever I am with my laptop is my office, whether in a cafe, in a mall, on my living room floor... with the laptop I can do my schoolwork and do business anywhere. But I still love the desktop because I can easily open up the PC and tinker with it, add stuff, tweak stuff, and just have fun. Besides I can usually repair my PC with no help but for the laptop I have to get help if it's a motherboard problem or such. So I love both, but I vote for desktop.

I've bought Aspire 5101ANWLMI. Cool and cheap, 15.4' widescreen, Turion 2.0, 512 MB of RAM (will upgrade it!), 5in1 card reader, bluetooth, dvd+/-rw, 80GB HDD... A lot slower than my desktop but good enough to run Macromedia tools while I am away (will be on business trip through whole June and that's the only reason I've bought it) :)
