I am looking for the best script to set up as a directory that has a number of categories per town.

So I would have all categories for each town.

I am looking for inexpensive or free.

    Thanks for any suggestion...

    :)

can you afford $30 for a directory script?
    if yes, choose phpld,
IMO it's the only one script on the market you can trust right one.

OK, so the best bet is phpld.

Has anybody used the regional version?

    How is it setup?

    Thanks...

Have you not considered building your own from scratch? Depending on what you are looking to get out of your directory will ultimately be the deciding factor but (many people using scripts will slate me for saying this) building your own not only seperates you from the crowd but potentially, can give you more benefits in terms of search engine rankings. Also, people may be more likely to submit and link to your directory if it is unique. If it's well constructed, SEO friendly and optimised, you will find alot of SEO companies out there will also recommend your directory to their clients.

    Hope this helps??

Phpld Paid version if you may not then you may use PhpLD 2.0

or there are some other script's you may use them but they are difficult, phpld is simple & easy to use

Thanks guys, I am trying phpld for now, I can't build one from scratch. I can modify the layout, but there are many templates available for free or for cheap, so I'll probably go that way.

BTW, any suggestions for a geographical directory? Based on cities? Thanks!

    :)

Since it's been dug up, let me say that I used the regional version of PhpLD, and it works for me so far.

    Thanks!
