Which Directories are worth to buy a backlink?

If this is for SERPS spend it on beer instead. It will proove just as useful. Directories don't count for an awful lot for serps

 

You are very wrong to claim with with no facts to show. Links from quality web directories can have great impact on your serp results. I have couple of websites that ranks very well in SERPs and most of the backlinks I have are directly from directories.

Since youa re not aware I would also like to let you know that google recommends submitting to quality web directories. It is mentioned in their webmaster guidelines.

 

Does it really work then? Are you sure?
I came to the assumption a year ago that directories were devalued by about 80 % of link weight

This is supporting link one. Most directories have quite low PR pages, and a high home page.
I just cannot see how google would value it anymore, unless of course there was very little keyword competition.
A lot of people who viciously defend directories make actually own them!

Will try to find some evidence that directories are devalued, I believe it but I will try to proove it. The exceptions are the ones with Trust, DMOZ yahoo, BOW

 

I am not sure if you can buy signature at WHT. To the best of my knowledge, you can't trade/sell your signature at WHT and any such activity could lead to account suspension at WHT.

I agree. Although Matt C mentioned BOTW and the DMOZ (if you can get in) as well.

 

I will add a site that is a couple of weeks old, for a not particaulary difficult keyword, and really no links to BOW, and see if I get get it from G page 2 to page one.
Would anyone agreee that is a fair test?
