will be better than west coast servers for Europe , those from the east coast , are a little slow in Europe, i used one on the west coast and the speed, download / upload wasn't good
You are asking after selecting it ? I mean what is the use , now ? Anyway, Washington would be good, better than many others. Why not a datacentre in UK, there are many good DCs there. Ishan
I'm from the UK and the price of the servers here are far too expensive, and of course... we have to pay tax on everything. Even if it were cheap, I'd still get one in the US due to the fact that all of my business is over there.
Depends on what your provider is mate, it really depends on what routing they use. Some US providers even route through canada to europe. Washington is ofcourse better for you as a European in the fact that it is closer, but still it really depends on the routing of the provider. Ask at them what they use, tell them, do you use cogent, or level3, or telia, or whatever. Tell them to explain about wich bandwidth providers they use. If you can put that list here, it is easy to see what routes it takes when your data travels around the world! You could also do a few traceroutes to a few websites or other clients of them hosted, so you can see what routes it takes from your home to the DC there. You want to know how to do it? Simply type "trace route command" on google, and there are many answers for many different operating systems.
