I m about to start a site that will contain some popular images. I know to type of disclaimer about copyright, these are :-

1- Images are property of their respective owner. If you are the owner of any image and do not want it to appear on this site then please contact us and it will be removed.
    OR

2- All images are easily on internet and considered to be in public domain. We believe that its in our right according to us fair copyright use act (title 17). However you can contact us if you are the owner of any image and it will be removed.

You should learn a little more about the Copyright Act and what "fair use" actually is.

Neither of these disclaimers will protect you from legal action and any company's rights you infringe upon can simply sue you without notice.

Oh, you might want to figure out what public domain actually is also.

Here's the bottom line. You can just go taking other people's work and try to pass it off as you'll stop if someone tells you otherwise.

Today, companies are more inclined to proceed directly to legal remedies in matters like these.
