    I have been using custom computers for the last 5 yrs now. If you have the knowledge or know someone who does, you will always come out with a better computer for a lot less money if you use a custome job. Plus you will have the added bounses of it having exactly the features you need it too. Also, most of the time, if it is done correctly, a custom computer will be much easier and better for upgrading it later on.
