I am thinking about to change the colour of the text for my ads of my web site . Do you guys have any experiences which colour can attract more click ? I have read some e-book mention about blue ? What is your idea ? thank you ~
whatever you are using in your site works well to blend in... I have tried using red text links, when in fact my site is using blue, and dont see much of an increase..
Blue might be a good color since it is the default link color, but I personally always match the color to the rest of my site's links.
Background and link colors the same? You wouldn't be able to see the links! Plus its against the TOS.
No what i wanted to say is that color_border = "FFFFFF"; color_bg = "FFFFFF"; color_link = "FFFFFF"; color_url = "FFFFFF"; color_text = "0000FF"; This is What i kept. Is this against TOS?
Here is a post I wrote for another forum--figured I would dig it up and post it here. Tells alot about what people are thinking about certain colors. ******************************************************* To ask about the psychology of color means to actually study what colors mean to humans and what studies have said. Below is what I learned in an advertising course in college and a quick compilation of what I Remember. Brown is a color of EARTH. There is alot of brown in the world so people get a genuine(truthfull) impression. Yellow Attention getter--but very hard on the eyes so it might grab a persons attention they might not look long enough to get the message. Brown has more following by men because of the rustic feel/look. Black symbolizes Power White is for purity Blue is the most popular of all colors as far as favorite colors go. Blue has been shown to calm people down (heartrate decreases) Blue stand for loyalty and peacefulness Be careful for people in a state of depression it can also DEPRESS them worse because of BLUES calming effect. Red has actually shown to increase heartrates in human beings-also very noticable--A red car is more apt to be stolen and pulled over by the cops. RED Also is the color of LOVE. Green Symbolizes Nature Green is also a Calming color Green also symbolizes fertility Dark Green is all about wealth and money Dark green can make something Expensive seem affordable or worth the hefty price tag. Dark green is also know to make a person look deeper at something they would normaly pass over. Purple--royalty, wealth and sophistication use purple sparingly it is not a frequent color in real life so it looks fake. This is what I could do from memory from my past studies have no idea what pink, beige, grey, orange do but I'm sure they have meaning too.
I've had good experience with red as the title color, the CTR increased about 20% comparing to blue. Of course it my be a bit harmfull to your site aesthetics and may decrease CTR to your internal links.
Some good points and information, but keep in mind regarding the color red: Red is also not visually impaired friendly and hence doesn't not comply with federal US Law, Section 508. Red is also the color of "stop" "do not enter" and other negative images and sometimes is avoided like the plague in marketing and sales. More on using colors.
I personally prefer the text link in Google Ads has the same color with other links in my site. My site link defined in CSS is Orange, for instance, so I also prefer the link in goolge has the same color. In that way it looks more natural than other colors.
actually from my reading in various ebooks , blue text + background colour matching your site`s background is considered great .
I'm having a strange problem in which my AdSense banner is not letting me use the colour Blue for the link titles. http://www.spacecowboysoftware.com (right below the logo) If you check my page source, you can see that I am using the colour "0000FF" which should be pure blue, but the words are showing up as white. Anyone know why this is happening?
Blue is the color that most web users associate with links. Unless the color blue conflicts with other design elements of your site, or if you have chosen some other color for you site links, I suggest sticking with the color that most people know and understand. Your Google ads should appear. as much as possible, to a normal part of your site Al
What about google ads in forums.. is it still a good idea to blend in the colours with the background if we put the ads into forums like this in between posts?
