I like to use Wordpress as a CMS. Easy to integrate Adsense, Google Sitmaps, RSS, SEO hacks, the whole deal.

I was seriously going to use Joomla for my first website and I even bought a magazine component to make it look better when it launched. I then realised that a lot of Joomla sites were extremely slow loading and that for me was the kiss of death.

I then looked at Drupal but found it was not very compatible with my hosting company, GoDaddy (Yes, I know)

I am now using Wordpress and it works fine.

I used Serendipity (http://www.s9y.org) for my blog and it has a nice support at the forum.

Serendipity plugin for Adsense give us an easy way to place Adsense code into various place (sidebar, top, bottom or inside content).

Even if you're not going for AdSense, WordPress as a CMS is great.

www.textpattern.com is lightweight and good for Adsense, SEO, clean urls, custom metatags & titles per page, and you can create sections each with a diffrent design & template.
