Hello, I am trying to build up a faq database site for my organization. I am looking for some advice on which cms to choose(if it exists presently) The features i would need are 1) Different FAQ categories, 2) Inside the categories, all the questions listed, and when clicked bring the answers in a new page. 3) Fully searchable per question(i would prefer tagging also if possible for each question and a tag based search). Searching is crucial. 4) Easy entry interface. wysiwyg editor is preferred. 5) Member management(who can contribute for the faq. Only for authors. 6) General display customizations. I should be able to add the sidebar and change the looks of templates. 7) SEO friendly urls Any cms solution out there that does the job i am looking for(with addons is also fine). Am open to paid cms also but would prefer a open source one, should be preferably on php/mysql backend)
Ive never seen a FAQ CMS but if you google search for FAQ script there are lots. I would suggest Drupal with the views module. Might be a bit harder than a FAQ script but it will look better in the end.
Second Drupal, but would suggest using the faq module. It's very flexible for FAQs. http://drupal.org/project/faq Also, the faq_ask module allows users to 'ask the expert'.
i just use joomla with the sections , categories and the the content set up. you can see my faqs section i just started here no hassles easy to set up
