I have designed a website, sliced it and now the coding starts. I normally do everything in html with Editplus 2. Now it is time to use a CMS and I was wondering: Which CMS do you use and why? Please also post or PM me your website. Thank you
I use Mambo/Joomla (pre-split, have jumped off the fence yet) because it was much more secure than 'nuke' and I liked the way the back end hangs together. You'll find people equally enthusiastic about Xoops and Drupal (search for threads here) and you can demo them at Open Source CMS
I have a ton of sites that I'm developing right now, but the focus as of late has been on recordingreview.com and echoechostudios.com Recordingreview.com is just a source for free information on home recording. Echoechostudios.com is recording studio's website. You can see that they both utilize Dreamweaver templates and are fairly rough. I have big ideas for both, and it seams that I'm just now finding the tools I need to accomplish this. Brandon
I use Mambo. Some say that M is slow. But I made website with all stuff with about 20-30 articles, graphic for a 4 hours. And I must say that I used M before for a fiew days.
I've been using NEPHP from nelogic.com on www.buildtutorials.com for the past 2 years. It's quite easy to configure/template/style and offers many backend functionalities like user integration with vbulletin. Another unique selling point is the WYSIWYG editor WITH in-browser image uploading and attachment to article, all without any FTP uploads.
I use Xoops. I find it easy to use, with a comprehensive admin panel. Also, even though I'm not the best php coder, it's not to hard to modify the modules to your specific needs. Plus, they have great support.
I've been kicking out sites weekly with joomla now. Joomla has afforded me the ease of use of "cookie cutter"ing my sites. Getting good SEO out of the software as well (could always be better), but I'm getting the revenue and clicks out of my visitors that I should
I just setup this site with mambo http://www.valleypastoralcharge.org/ and im working on my main site as well http:// beta. supportcave.com well remove the beta for the current site and im soon moving all 20+ domain over to mambo... love thier CMS..
I use only Joomla at the moment. And some normal Html-Site I build with "Nvu" and some blogs. Joomla/Mambo I love very much, because there are so many good Modules and Komponents, which I can never programm with php. Very good. Joomlanews: http://joomlablog.blogspot.com/
I'm using WordPress with a plugin that makes the front page static. I then designed it like a CMS. I have used many CMS phpNuke, PostNuke, CPGNuke, Mambo, ect.. and when I found how "light" WordPress was compared to the others I was hooked. See my profile for the link to a "sandboxed" site I am working on using Wordpress.
I use Contao CMS, because it's the most accessible open source system, especially for people with disabilities.
I mostly use Wordpress for most of my sites. I find it very easy to work on Wordpress. Though I had also used Joomla but for me Wordpress is good.
