Let me make it very clear.. I'm not looking for oneliner replies. I need information, well informed replies. So count runners and trolls, please go away. Now here is the situation, I'm up for a new car, a Sedan to be very precise. I have done my research and have shortlisted few models from different companies. My priority items on feature list are (in priority order) : 1) Safety Features like ABS, Airbags, Immobilizer etc 2) Good comfort and luxury. 3) Average Fuel Economy (I don't expect an FE of 14 KM/pl, 8-9 is fine. Just it should not be as bad as a BMW) 3.1) Not astronomical maintenance cost (again, not expecting cheap, but shouldn't be as high as that of a luxury saloon) 4) Aggressive looks 5) Rest of the standard features These are the cars I have short listed - 1) Toyota Corolla Altis 2) Chevrolet Optra Magnum 3) Honda City 4) Tata Manza 5) Chevrolet Sonic Sedan (It is not launched yet, but do you really think it's worth waiting?) Manza is a bit cheaper than other 3, but it is rich in features and got everything in my priority feature list. Now I would like to hear, what do you think, which car should I buy and why? Throw any factor you got at me. Be it after sales service or over all performance or maintenance cost or anything.. Share your experience of each company, or the car if you own one. If you think you can suggest a better alternative in above price range (USD $13,000 to $17,000 OR 6,00,000 to 8,00,000 INR). I know Corolla Altis is above this price range but that's the exception, Altis is the only car that I like and can actually afford from Toyota.. Etios is crap and Camry is way above my budget.. Help me decide which one to buy.. PS: I do not want a Ford car, so Fiesta is out of question...
Out of these I believe only Altis and Honda City look aggressive and look good even now. Both are good brands and you can buy anyone of them. But if I had to select, I will go with Honda city. The best sedan for last 10 years in India. Automatic Shifting with Paddle shifts is the best thing I like in it.
Go on the thread just below entitled,"Your comment on this picture",there is the car you should buy. There are one or two bananas that might have to be removed first, but it is a good deal.
I like City as well, it's look is impressive and performance is unbeatable, as I heard from my friends who own a City. Why I'm not eager to buy City? Well it may sound weird, but City is a way too common car, almost every 4th sedan is a City on Delhi's road. 3 of my 5 close friends have a City. Once they get started on City, it's nearly impossible to shut them up. They think I'm being a fool to even consider any car other than the City. But I guess I'll end up buying it anyway.. PS: I think Chevy Sonic looks awesome as well, it has the looks of Mitsubishi Evo X. Too bad it's aint gonna launch before early next year I'm not looking for crossover or utility vehicles. I'm in the market for a Sedan. @Everyone else Seems like Honda City is popular among people (of ourse it is, the sheer number of it on road is a clear indicator) Although I would like to hear whats your reason to recommend it. That's my current Car, Linda.. I actually own that car.. I dunno who took that picture and when
From those 5 I like Honda City and Chevrolet Sonic. And do you have Renaults in India? Have a look on Renault Fluence - it is a nice and cheap sedan. I also like its interior.
Yupp, Renault Fluence is available here, but I didn't find it much impressive. And it's priced higher than even the Altis. Sonic looks really impressive, but is it worth waiting for it? I made myself clear on the price range.. I'd rather buy a Camry or BMW 3 series than the Accord. Next time, please read the OP before running your post count. I'm not looking for dirt cheap hatchbacks..
