Which Cach plugin do you use, W3 Total Cache or super cache or any other cache plugin? Personally I prefer to use W3 Total cache, as it has all the functions that a WordPress blog need to improve the caching and speed. I know, it may be hard to configure for some people (mainly, non-techie users), but still W3 Total Cache is best. I think Quick Cache is good alternative, as it works out of the box and doesn’t need any extra configuration unlike W3 Total Cache. Would love to hear your thoughts?
The only problem is you're requiring your site to process more code with these plugins which defeats the purpose. If you are looking for a faster site - turn on the default cache is the WP Config file: define ('WP_CACHE', true); Outside that consider adding gzip compression directly to your htaccess file. Again don't use plugins when ever possible. The more plugins you use the more conflicts you will run into and the slower the site will run. Also consider applying google and yahoos principles of coding. They have fantastic tips for optimizing webpage load times. You can find them here: Google: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/best-practices/rules_intro?hl=sv Yahoo: http://developer.yahoo.com/performance/rules.html Hope this helps!
Hey Guys, W3 Total Cache is great, but it drives me mad because sometimes I can't get it to uncache things and I can't figure out why. I use WP Quick Cache and it's simple and does exactly what I need... anyone know how to compare the two?
I am using W3 Total Cache By using this plugin, our page speed on Google increase about 5 till 10 But I never check it on yahoo. Hehehe
Thanks for stopping by and sharing the useful info with us. I don't think too many plugins decrease the speed of the blog. There may be except when the plugin isn't well coded or is not up to the WordPress standards. W3 Total Cache has a lot more functions & options then the default WordPress cache. If WordPress cache was so powerful then most people haven't been using W3TC (or a cache plugin).
Ask your hosting provider They should tell you, and also how to configure the plugin they reccomend. I use Hostgator, and they have tutorials on WP Super Cache, so that is what I am using.
W3 Total Cache is great. You can do a before and after test on this site: - http://gtmetrix.com/ The site above will also tell you what areas of your site can be improved
totally recomend W3C Total Cache. It's easy enough & has no problems. It's the best plugin ever. But you need to know how to configure it. Mashable.com use W3C total cache. Other big sites based on WP use it.
