Which business will you start if you have $100000?

I hv an equivalent of $100000 (INR 6,000,000). Which business would you start if you have that money? It can be online / offline.

 

I would try and buy this site, but I think its worth a lot more

I would probably start a hosting company, probably specialising in forum hosting, because I am knowledgeable in that area

 

If I were you, I would buy a couple forums etc. Get you money back, and go from there.

 

Do popular forums really to for that much? If a forum was making enough money to make that back, I doubt they would sell it

Honestly, I would do webhosting, use the funds to take over existing companies, as well as investing in a few racks in a datacenter.

The benefits of franchises are that they will provide you the whole business model and will help you a lot with the start up process.

I would either buy a website that was established or I would build one from scratch and then spend the money on traffic and marketing so that it would go into profit much quicker.

It just depends of the time I wanted to spend it and what I was working on at the time. As sometimes it is down to having the time to do it!

It is really a good amount but as per offline Indian market it just a fine amount as you know leasing or buying office space / property, setting up a team & systems is quit high.

Here are the few thing you can do to secure your money with getting good returns:

1) Invest some funds with sure returns and amount security. i.e, mutual funds, Fix Deposit etc they to not pay high but amount is secured.

Therefore at the end of two years I will have 60 lacs back from the real estate sector (property + investment) + all the earning from sites in my pocket, also site are there standing for you.

You can take more advantages by flipping those sites after two years with your revenue proofs & previous buyers revenue proofs YOU WILL get more value website than the price you bought at.

So in my opinion you can turn your 60 lacs into 90lacs - 1 crore+ within two years with no risk.

I will start a land sale or invest on other scar resources. So it is an offline business.

As others said, I also thought about web hosting business. But it is a money consuming business. You have to pay to support team, data center, invest on natural disasters, prevent from DDOS attacks, fraud and so on. It will take time to get the return of investment.
eCommerce site may be good alternative if you are thinking about an online business.

But personally I will not do an online business from such amount of money.

 

Vacationing, foreign travel, something like that. I like to travel.

 

The best thing you may do at the moment is to buy GOLD , gold price at the moment is at the bottom, and a lot of people are buying gold right now as it is a great opportunity of investment.
