Hi, me and a friend are going to start a website. We have learnt unless we have stupidly amounts of traffic adsense wont be the answer so we have decided to go for a subscription/token site. Business Idea 1 This is the most expensive out of the two, however my friend prefers this plan. Its €499 which is around $900 to buy for life. It a piece of software which allows models to be on a webcam and people pay us to view the models. We will pay the models xx/hour for doing it. This type of site would be more around the token system. For example sombody buys 5 tokens for $3 for 5 minutes 1on1 with the model. The only problem i see here is getting the models and getting the customers which will be willing to pay. Its $400 for the script and it allows anybody to send text messages from their computer to any mobile phone in the world. To start with i would make it a free service, as it got popular i would start having subscriptions. For example unlimited use to the site for 1 year for $79. And 1 months use for $10. I could also offer tokens and have it so that 1 token = 1 message and you could buy tokens in 20's and buy them for $3. The advantage to this is its not a two way thing, with the first idea we need models and clients to make it work. With this however the "model" is the text messaging service so we could concentrate on just getting clients. Idea 1 - I think you would have problems in getting people to go on the webcams, and problems getting the visitors without a huge budge. Idea 2 - Better than idea one, but I am not sure I really see the need to send texts off the internet, sure why not if they are free.... but quite alot of people get free texts from their phones now, and its alot easier to use a phone than have to go find a computer to text from... Thanks for the feedback. How about a community site for music lovers? Id have content, a forum and an online radio station.. The only problem is monetizing it. I cant exactly offer a subscription for it..
If I would need to choose, it would be idea #1. There's no get-rich-quick scheme, and you will need to do your homework on models and marketing strategies, but it's a proven business model.
Out of the two choices, I would go with the second one. I think you'll have a hard time getting people for the webcams like someone mentioned already.
One thing that I'm unsure if anyone realizes or not, is that the second idea would be even harder an expensive than the first one. You will still need to pay for the website/hosting/servers, and it's a "cheap" service that most people will have no use for.
2 is better. 1 in useless and way expensive can get that script for $5 Infact more then likely both scripts. Look at finding investment if i am been honest. Save up until you have $10,000 the business plan. then go for it.
