My favorite would be wordpress. Pretty easy to use with lots of free plugins and themes to choose from.

this question is too common to ask. Wordpress is so far winning the blogging software domain. you can easily find thousands of free templates and amazing plugings, widgets from internet.

I have slated to start blogging after mid July, but have been evaluating options. WP seems ahead if you are using your own domain. You have to be careful about the Themes and when you install it do not install too many plug ins. The latter can slow down the site.
In the past two months plus I have visited over 300 blogs mainly from Internet Marketing. You should some for ideas. One thing for sure I am not going to install the auto response feature.
I suggest you visit the blog of Avinash Kaushik, he has a section on the goal of his blog. A lot of people have modeled their blog aims after reading that section.

Majority in DP say Wordpress.org (.com is terrible), but in my niche wast majority of blogs are in Blogger (some use their own domain with Blogger software, some are hosted on blogspot.com).

I recommend you to try Wordpress . My team is using that platform and it sure give us a good mark on our Blogs and we are able to have good feedback. It's your own choice in the end we can't be able to know your own preferences. Just try it.

Wordpress hands down. It's robust and updated frequently. There are also tons of plugins you can use.

I have only worked with WordPress, but do intend to test out other blogging platforms just for the sake of curiousity to see whether they match up to WordPress or if they are possibly even better then WordPress.

I think Wordpress is a very flexible, easy to use blogging/CMS platform with lots of plugins available.

    Kind Regards
