Hi Guys, I need to think about the domain name for a new website I would like to create, and need your wealth of knowledge please?. It is for consumer day courses. I have already brought a few a while back, here: beauty-school.org beauty-school.info beauty-school.biz I bought as well today www.beauty-training.org I would like to be found in UK serps for terms around "Beauty courses" "1 day beauty courses" etc... Do you think that the org, needs to be for govenment sites rather than a small beauty course site? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. T
For SERPs, I have found that the keyword in the domain matters more than the TLD of the domain, but don't go for a stupid TLD (like some completely unknown country code TLD) for the sake of keywords!
You can use the org also but I would try for a dot com eventhough the keywords are taken. Keywords need not be in the domain for a good ranking although it helps. Just google for your competition and check out the domain names.
I think the beauty-school.info is the best option although i am based out of the UK i have a beautyr.us site the main thing is that you have the keyword beauty in the url.Good luck
the dot com is obviously your best bet but in the event it is not available I would suggest you to go for the dot org...
Those domain names are not too bad but the bad thing about hypenated domain names is that you tend to lose repeat traffic to your non hyphenated competitors that have your exact domain name minus the hyphen. Instead of beauty-school.org, info or biz, why don't you try to come up with something like: beautyschoolprofessor.com beautyschoolteacher.com beautyschoolsolutions.com topbeautyschool.com I don't know if those are taken but you get the idea. Those could be catchy names, easy to memorize and you show them with the .com in it. Just a quick brainstorm idea anyway!
