Hi there, I want to know that which backlinks carry more weight and work fine for the search engine optimization. The links from the related sites, web directories, articles, social bookmarking sites or others. Any help will be highly appreciated. Regards KB
The links from.... Related sites The most important link is from a related site, and related sites can include any of the link types you listed below. So regardless of the type of link, try to make sure it's related. One way links pointing to your site are best, two way links certainly do not hurt. Web directories Fantastic, but slowly losing value. Submit to any many related categories as possible. Free ones are fine, paid ones are better, regardless, human edited (for quality) ones are best. Articles Another great resource for getting backlinks. The only real problem here is Duplicate content filters. When submitting articles try to rework them for each place they are submitted too. This gives relevant content that has the possibility of standing out in the SERPS on its own. Of course, your BEST article should be on your OWN site, as why give someone else such relevant engine position? social bookmarking More and more are going nofollow...but go on & use them, it's certainly free traffic and product recognition. Most of the time you'll just need to give people the means to use the sites (add this works nice). Social bookmarking does not help as much as the others, but is still a great (and FREE) way to get the word out. Stumble can generate hundreds or thousands of hits a week if the landing page is worthy of sharing. Best of luck, and just remember, RELATED LINKS are best, regardless of type...so use proper tagging where possible, and submit only to relevant places. And never, ever spam!
i think the most important backlinks are the link from related sites. and on the other it's important to have all types of links. google is sometimes changing the weight of links
I think links from related sites gets higher possibility to be indexed by search engine as backlinks.
The best link is: High PR, same niche, limited number of outbound links, the right anchor text, high traffic site.
Search engines don't know or care about relevant links. Those are helpful because the traffic they send is more targeted, and more likely to convert because of it. That has nothing to do with SEO per se. Directories are being devalued. They can help a little, but at the cost of a lot of time and effort. Probably not worth it. Articles are good if you're a good writer, knowledgeable, and have a unique take on a topic. Social bookmarking sites might bring you traffic, but not SEO, as the links are nofollow.
Qryztufre, you're my new favourite person in this forum now crawled related sites it is. hey, i thought we were gonna swap links
submission to maximum possible directories, link purchase from higher pagerank, 1 way links from related sites of same category, few inbounds links from ...edu sites and thats it you are on #1
Only links that are actually indexed are counted by the SE's. Other than that: I think it's good to have a mix. Don't just rely on directories, or social bookmarking, or related links - have them all. But that said, I agree with most in this thread: related links are the ones to focus on if you insist on choosing among the ones mentioned here.
i doubt if only submissions will do it. One need to get have listed on maximum directories in relevant categories as well.
