    I think this is one of the best free tools: http://www.backlinkwatch.com/
    It shows backlinks and anchor text, as well as dofollow/nofollow information.

    backlinkwatch is very good for a free tool. You can see the anchor and if the links are dofollow or nofollow.

    Use http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/ just to get the general backlink count. Then programs such as Marketing Samurai help you analyze them. It also depends what you are analyzing them for (competition or just your own backlinks?)
