Articles on which topics sell the most or are most in demand, on the web as well as offline? What are the best-selling niches for article writers?
I have always done well with SEO related articles, web hosting and anything related to Internet marketing. Hope this helps! -c
Thanks for your replies everyone. Hope this helps people selling content on DP - I was going through all articles sold last year (2013) at the content marketplace in 'Buy, Sell or Trade' section. (https://forums.digitalpoint.com/forums/content.76/) What I conclude is that content in the following genres was sold the most: Health (Weight Loss/Gain, Fitness, Exercise, Diet Planning, Food and Nutrition etc) Beauty (Skin Care, Hair Care, Cosmetics etc) Finance (Credit Cards, Debt Management, Loans, Insurance etc) Business and Money-Making (Start your own business, Working at home etc) Internet and Online Business (Web Hosting, Servers, Running an online business etc) Online Marketing (SEO, Blogging etc) Mobiles and Mobile Apps (Smartphones, Android, Blackberry, iPhones and iPads etc) Home Improvement (Home Decor, Interior Design/Decoration etc)
Mostly relates with new trends and unique quality. In these days hosting articles are on top. Try them.
I've also had a lot of success with IM/SEO/tech topics, however if you can write GOOD articles on Health topics, you're set - there's little competition and lots of buyers. Sadly, they're all gone from DP because of the low (or should I say, abysmal) quality of such articles...
That's true wanderinglex47. As I have observed, the articles that were sold the most on DP in 2013 were from the Health genre. Thanks for your input.
IMO cosmetics and loans articles sells very well, but there is big competition, everybody write about it
Articles related to bodybuilding and losing weight always sell well, and there is a never ending demand for them. There is also a large demand for internet marketing articles. There is a lot of established writers and competition, so you need to be really good to write in these niches.
Thanks for your inputs Robinox, MorbidTaz17 and Sarah Davis. Competition is undoubtedly very fierce for popular and in-demand niches as IM, Business, Health etc.
Is there a way to find bestselling and most popular topics using Google Keyword Planner Tool and/or Google Trends? If there are any specific tools you can use for this, can someone suggest a few?
'Pet' is a very popular niche, no doubt. But I am not sure if it is the MOST popular or bestselling one. I have not seen a lot of pet related content being bought or sold here at DP and other marketplaces, especially when it is compared with top-selling niches such as IM, health, finance, business, mobiles etc. Thanks for your input though.
Do you know how big is the dog niche alone? I've been in the content business for over 5 years now and have written literrally thousands of articles in a wide variety of niches and after the obvious niches such as finance and IM, pets have been a recurring topic for me.
That's great. If the 'pet' niche is so popular and in demand, I would like to write for it. At least I will try. Unfortunately, till now I haven't come across any clients who have a big need for pet related content. But surely I am going to hunt for a few. Thanks again.
I think it's a good niche if you love animals, especially if you offer something unique. When I was looking for dog-related content on DP, it seemed like quite a few writers were rewriting PLR articles. I'm not positive about that, but the titles looked so similar. @ContentMaestro - I think I'm going to start writing too. I did get that transcriptionist job, and was working on it all day. I probably sound crazy, but it was just kind of boring. Bad audio too! While I was pulling my hair out, I thought of a plan. I think I'm just going to start selling articles here. One way I could be unique is to try to focus on things I know about and take pictures for the article. I could give them rights to the images that go with it. That might sell!?
