It will be really helpful if someone can tell me, how good is article marketing in promoting your website and for back linking.
Also which are the good websites to post articles for FREE and generate backlinks.

The good article directory are articleblast, articlebase, buzzle, hubpages and ect.

Personally, I no longer use ezinearticles.com. That site is hammered with G*oogle ads keeping your readers from going into your site. Articlesbase + xomba = better

Hubpages is not an article posting website. It is a social page creation site, where you can share anything.

listiaclone's list is good for article submission (manual). But I prefer doing manual and automatic submission. Use the high quality directories for your unique articles and submit the rest via automatic submission.
