I use to use Norton but it bogged down my system...start up took forever...I always though free was crap but man...AVG and Avast are good for free anti-virus IMO. I would also use trendmicro's free online scan ones in a while to pick up somethings AVG might of missed.

I've used avast (free) for about 2 yrs w/ no problems.
If I ever buy one it will be NOD32.
Will never again use norton or panda.

I have used Windows Live OneCare, Norton (lots of different editions, but not 360), Symantec Enterprise, NOD32, AVG, Kaspersky, Avast and a couple of others that slip my mind at the moment. I liked Norton for ease of use, but it was a major resource drain, and on the opposite end I think that NOD32 was the least resource intensive. But my favorite has been Symantec, as it was very powerful, well updated, easy to manage and not as bad a system hog as Norton.

Yeap so better for one to use Zonealarm (firewall) alongwith other Antivirus such as AVG 8.0 or Avast 4.8 Home Edition (both are free to use).

    DON.

I have used AVG for a couple of years now and believe it to be one of the best- at least for free.

Mc Afee and Norton are rubbish

I agree. Norton does suck. In my personal experience, Macafee sucks a big one too.

Avast and AVG Free are the way to go as far as free antiviruses. PandaCloud is decent, but the first two are better.

Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D are good for malware, spyware, and general clean up like that./

Free AVG seems to be very very popular ,I must say.

I have been using Norton for the past 5 years.
When I purchased Dell PC, Norton was already installed 30 day free and after expiry I subscribed.
    So far I am happy.
