    using no antiviruses is better
    it just make your system more heavy and have nothing for you in return

    Little ram combined with little use.
    It turned out to be pretty useless against one of the latest FTP viruses that I've had a chance to deal with. So I had to ditch it and install Kaspersky to get the problem solved.

    LOL norton is one of the worst anti viruses, i would seriously rather use any free anti virus over that, probably AVG.

    The best anti virus for speed/reliability/performance/updates etc is NOD32 HANDS DOWN! The only thing kaspersky may be better for is that it is easier to use for beginners.

    I'll 2nd the Norton blowing. I'm sure it protects with the best of them but it is a RENOWNED resource hog. Not to mention nearly impossible to uninstall completely and furthermore it can jack your system up real good.

    For me, the best anti-virus is NOD32 (here is my review of NOD32 3.0, if anyone interesting).

    BitDefender imo is very good, but currently i use kaspersky internet security.

    Also Avira AntiVir can be an option to free versions.
