Avast is the best free one... AVG seems to have a way cheaper feel to it.

Determining an anti-virus should be determined by how well it catches virus'. And AVG is top of the line in that category.

According to my experience NOD 32 and Kaspersky are best one.

Nod32 is another great one. I had a bad experience with Kaspersky so I will never use them again.

Wheres the best place to download an OFFICIAL copy of AVG? I've been reading this thread and everyone says it's so good. I've been using McAfee Security Center which is very good regardless to what people say, however my subscription is up and ew, i don't pay for stuff like this. Also, does it have a firewall built in and stuff to keep me protected besides scanning / deleting viruses when i ask it too? Because i want to get rid of my McAfee since it keeps popping up. But i want a very secure system, thanks.

I'm on avg free right now and am loving it. It is low on system resource usage and has a good detection rate.

I use NOD 32. It updates automatically and also is very good at blocking unwanted spywares entering my PC.

I go for avast! anti-virus. It is free, and much better than AVG. The reason I don't like AVG is because it doesn't update in the background, instead it updates as soon as you start the computer. Whereas avast! anti-virus updates in the background and simply notifies you when its updated.
