I happen to use Avast, because it is free, and its system load is extremely light :)

Actually none, all of them are bundled with spyware, malware and other thingies.

Tha could be a plus but it isn't because good antivirus like AVG reduce its performance or cause annoyances (those virus ratings added to search engines) and, at the end, there are specific spyware or malware programs that you would prefer over those all-in-one antivirus.

In my case Lavasoft and antivirus that is antivirus, not the one-man band.

I had heard things regarding Zone Alarm and message boards (forum sites) not getting on well together.
    Any truth to this?

I lost a few loyal forum subscribers because of this, but still don't understand what the issue is/was.
Any references on this enigma appreciated.

I have ZoneAlarm Pro. I have not had any issues with forums but I'm just on a handful of them.

HOEWEVER, it was rather stinky with myspace, ebay, and wal-mart of all places due to a "privacy" setting in the firewall.

ZA can be quite quirky @ times...I think I might ditch it next year after my subscription runs out.

I've been using Avast. Once you figure out how to turn off that annoying voice alert, it's great.

im running Zone Alarm Security Suite on my computer, Zone Alarm Firewall on my other computer alone with Avast, and Zone Alarm Firewall and a free scan on my lap top. im just messing around with them at the moment, but i think i will stay with Zone Alarm Security Suite and spybot.

one of the main reasons I went with ZASS was the nifty spam filter for email, not sure if that's enough for me to stick with it though

I lost 2 laptops in a year using Norton. Now, I have Trend Micro and haven't had a single problem. I'd definitely recommend it.
