NOD32 is great. Avast is great being that it's free.

Tried almost every antivirus suites on the market and I can say Kaspersky is the best overall. but customer support is not that good. You'll have better luck asking for help on their official forums.

Norton = Too Bloated! (the upcoming 2009 version is great though...)
Nod32 = Super sensitive engine. Will flag almost everything as infected. False positive king!
McAfee = Dumped it after they auto renewed my subscription without asking for permission FIRST.

Norton Antivirus - started with 2005 (when I first got my new computer) and have since moved to 2008. Personally I liked 2005 - 2008 seems to demand more from my computer and I can't understand why Symantec update their software like this - so you need to keep up with the latest patches! :-o

A friend told me Antivirus companies are the people responsible for spreading the viruses - otherwise they wouldn't have a job, though I guess it's easy enough for a virus to spread. The last virus to seriously compromise my work was when I was at school (1996) which was a Macro Virus which was in Word 7, though there was another virus going around which had disabled the printers! :-o

I dual-boot Ubuntu with Windows Vista Home Premium. For Vista, I have tried AVG, Spyware Doctor, and Norton. Out of all, I think Spyware Doctor With Anti-Virus is the best.

Of course a full-time User of CP/M wouldn't need an Anti Virus program! :-p

Hands down Avast Antivirus is the best. It's expensive (or maybe not :D ) but you'll never have a problem with it being too in your face, or any virus problems.

I tried the AVG free and had really good luck with it so I canceled the Trend Micro (actually was really good too) and bought the paid version of the AVG and it has been very, very good. I have tried Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro, and a few others over the years and so far I have been most impressed with Trend Micro and the AVG. The AVG cost me about $90 for two years. That is half the price of the Trend Micro!
