The source is an independent website which tests anti virus programs. Not sure if im allowed to post the site as they have illegal downloads on there site.

I see, well, at least you know they are putting the AV programs to the test! But are they trying to defeat them to take over the world

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Eset Internet Security is the best for all around security, and NOD32 for just anti-virus.

I use AVG 8.0 (Free Edition). It gets the job done without being a resource hog.

see, that goes against what people have said about V8. they said it's trying to become too cute (do too much) and therefore IS a hog.

but I imagine all things told it's still a lot better than Norton and others in that respect

NOD32 is the most streamline and up to date antivirus software. NOD32 wins a lot of virus competitions and stuff so they get my vote.

NOD32 and Kaspersky are probably the most respective anti-virus software to date, they are indeed very good and actually don't "fuck" your computer up with all this warnings, and questions, pop-ups. Also very good within RAM/CPU usage, they are very low both of them although NOD32 uses slightly less RAM than Kaspersky does.

One other one I forgot is ZoneAlarm. It provides extensive protection, may be a bit complicated to run but gets the job done.

I've used a lot of anti virus programs, all free. I now stick with AVG free as it doesn't take up much memory and is easy and quick to use.

LOL, maybe, but i do know there tests are independent, and i do trust there results more then any other site out there. They even provide the tools for you to test it yourself to make sure, there not biased (they give you the virus samples)
