I've used AVG for about 2 years, until very recently when I shifted to NOD32. AVG's new version, AVG 8, is a resource hog, in contrast to NOD32 which operates "silently" but busts 'em all with ferocity. :)

of course Kaspersky. There used to be a virus disasters, most of computers got affected .The exceptions are the computers with Kaspersky. At that time I work as a lan webmaster in a company. It was a headache for me to restore the virus victim computers including most female fellows. From different view, Kaspersky is a bit difficult to use for computer learners and female users.

I like only Norton Antivirus. It's really good and if you update regularly its components and virus definition through Live Update, you'll never face any problem for Virus.

as it happened, we were on vacation, I was on a crappy internet connection, and so I just turned it off (ZA) without knowing about the problem!

BUT once we got home, my LT did not work, the desktop did. I used the DT to research it and the workaround is to basically uninstall the MS update, DL the new patch/version of ZA and then do the MS thing.

    PAIN IN THE A**!!

here's the thing. I was already 1 version behind, I DL'd the new version 7.0.473 since I was on 7.0.470

    BUT

if you go to their web site 7.0.473 is listed as the newest released version but the security patch resides in 7.0.483!!!!

    WTF!!

so basically I had to install 2 version of ZA , undo and redo the MS patch...that's like 9 reboots right there! Took me hours to figure it all out!!

Oh, I had to find an article online to find the 7.0.483 version

avast antivirus is the best worked antivirus for me
    i used nod32 , Mcafee , Kaspersky , Avg , and avast
a month back my pc used to have many viruses and trogans but nod32 did'nt recognize them and lastly i used avast professional demo version (60 days) it has cleaned all the viruses and it has boot time virus check option that will delete all viruses
it has both home(free) edition and professional edition
