    AVG :)
It's free and does not use a lot of computer resources, what is great for slow and old computers :)

depends which one you install, kaspersky has protection while installing files so it won't get infected during installation

depends on what your defending yourself from and your budget :)

If you keep getting spyware then you invest in a better anti-spyware program,Or just get Spybot Search and Destroy for free.

    AdAware + AVG combo

(I know AdAware isn't a true anti-virus scanner but you can't go wrong using those two programs together if you want to use free software)

    +1

OMG! Is it a resource hog or what?!! Especially the new versions that are bundled with all the useless crap.

On another note, the corporate version is not that bad. Of course, I'm talking about the old version. The one that was just an antivirus and nothing else. It still even updates these days!

not only that but one time my Dad had it on his PC...totally screwed his OS over.

My wife (corp setting) had it at work...a disgruntled employee @ Symantec wrote malicious code just for Norton...nice - anyway it cost my wife like 2 days of work since she had about 22 workstations to deal with

I know that 's just 2 cases and isolated at this but still!

I guess the OP should have added a poll on this one...

AVG for me, free and has caught the viruses that tried infecting my computer
