    Nod32 is good but for some reason it doesn't properly clean the w32.pariteb virus.
    I use McAfee now and it does the job pretty easily.

    So my vote goes for McAfee AntiVirus !

    most antiviruses are free to download and the commercial ones have a 30 day evaluation period(trial) but that doesn't mean that they are free for lifetime

    no antivirus can give you 100% security.Go for something which is not very intrusive,free and does not use the system resources so much.Dont get afraid of antiviruses ,confront them.

    Norton uses up too much of your resources.

    Take it from me. I uninstalled my paid Norton AV which has
    4 months to go and got AVG Free.

    LOL! It has never been better.

    My other PC uses Symantec (I forgot what's the name) and
    it catches viruses which AVG didn't.

    ...and don't forget to use a Firewall. I had to learn it the hard
    way. XP's integrated firewall just don't cut it...
