Which Anti Virus is the best one?

AVG Free, by far.

 

NOD gets my vote never had a problem

 

You are the best anti virus yourself, i.e. becareful what you download run! I didn't use anti-virus for years without problems, I do now use AVG as a backup though. Had Norton pre-installed on my computer and quickly got it removed!

 

Norton is bloatware. Avoid.

I use NOD32.

 

AVG is pretty reliable.

 

I don't think so but then again some people are tarded enough to drive without wearing their seat belt so...

 

Noone, I dont have it and i dont need it...I never had a virus Since XP sp2, And now im in Vista !
I still use windows defender just in case

i'm using ESET Nod32 is very good but i debate for pay license for Windows live onecare or Norton 360.

Norton 360 i can crack but onecare no.

 

Have been using AVG without any problems.

 

These days spyware is the bigger concern. Having a good antispyware solution with a decent antivirus is enough.

I was looking for an antivirus program after I program manager regularly showed 50% usage on a dual core processor for a program I didn't recognize - turned out to be one of Microsofts little helpers. Read the reviews to avoid Norton. Chose McAfee as one of the names I knew. With the rebates it was almost free but its a bad bargain at any price. After install the time between when I would click on an email and it would open was 20 seconds. (I counted by a watch)

Tech support is by live chat with someone who is not farmiliar with the product or that farmiliar with the english language. Obviously running through a support script. Converation reminded me of a converation with Ractor - a computer game from the 70's where it took a word from your sentence and fed you back an answer that almost seemed like it made sense. You'll feel like that. You'll ask a question and the response you will get is the next in the support script they are using - since the have to look up every answer responses on chat will typically take 1-2 minutes before they appear . Either that or they are multitasking with 10 other support calls.

After about 6 hours of frustrating support chat, two complete installs and removals using their special removal tool the support call ended with the pronoucement that it was a problem with Explorer and I should contact my ISP to have them configure my DSL so it would work with Explorer.

It didn't matter to support that I told them explorer was working prior to the install of McAfee. It didn't matter that although gmail was the most severly affected everything on the computer was slowed down to the speed of cold molasses. That was the answer and that's when they ended the chat.

So I'd appreciate any recommendations for antivirus software. Thanks in advance for your help.

Personally I like Kaspersky the best. Catches everything.

My vote is only for McAfee...Always keep it up to date with internet otherwise not anti virus can protect you

 

first i were using avira . Now its AVG . avg free edition is far best and its free of cost ..
