I have wordpress blog with cross-linked pages in it (by post names). Post names are contains the keywords.I will promote my blog with these keywords, but i don't know which one is better, long or short, which contain only my kyeword (for example, if keyword is Red ass monkeys): - Red ass monkeys - Red ass monkeys with stupid faces Don't forget that these post names will be an anchors in links. Thanks a lot.
you have to make an investigation with the google keyword tool just to see which of the two keywords gave you more visits
As a rule, the shorter kyeword have more searches. But i interested in a part of these long keywords. Is have phrase "red ass monkeys" more weight in cross-linking than more longer phrase?
You can get the accurate results from Google keyword tool. The higher the search results and the more will be traffic.
It totally depends on your goal. Which keyword you are promoting. I guess that short keyword phrase 'Red ass monkeys' is more search able than long phrase.
I'd say long -because it still includes the short anchor's keyword terms. But if it's really long then Google may begin to shorten it down to what it considers important (the first few words).
Depents on the keyword(s) you want to focus on. But Red ass monkeys with stupid faces could be better anyway if you have to many competition on the more general version.
When interlinking inner pages, I think it would be better to use the 2nd choice. It is more descriptive and allows targeting of surrounding keywords, thus long tail. When you are linking to this page from other web pages that is not within your website, I think it is best to choose the 1st option as it directly targets the priority keyword.
longer is better since it is more targeted. However, you need to check on the search volume, if no one are looking for the "long keyword", then it is useless
Agree with all other answers.. 2nd choice is better.. by using 2nd choice you get benefit of both the choices .. 'Red ass monkeys' and 'Red ass monkeys with stupid faces' too..
I would use both with accent on 1st one, unless you dont want to rank for just "Red ass monkeys", why close this option so early when you can build it from start? Going with just 2nd option ( long tail ) may or may not give you an extra traffic but will not rank you high for the shorter version, unless it is very low competition niche to start with. If it is high competition niche, you will never rank high for short phrases with just long tail BL.
Although the second option reduces drastically the competition, should be wondering how this is the number of monthly requests for such a long term ... If it is 10 requests per month, then it is not worth nothing that you are in first place on Google for targeted keyword ... Generally, the phrase and should not contain more than three to four words ...
If you have the anchor text "red ass monkey with banana" and also "red ass monkey in a car: then both will help your rank for red ass monkey, just not quite as much as just "red ass monkey"
I think it's better you position the first key phrase for after dominating the first position in Google keyword strengthen. In addition, the segmentation allows a higher conversion for the purpose of the site.
You have to finalize it. Select the keyword which you want to dominant or work on both.. Second keyword is easy for getting better position.. Do keyword analysis..
man, the best option is to just try this out make a split test: 1. Green ass monkeys with stupid faces 2. Orange ass monkeys with stupid faces Test and see what works better.
Shorter is better, but so many rivals. if it can become the top positions for keywords that are short-will be very good.
