Which alternative/out-of-the-box methods do you use to generate traffic?

Direct Navigation a lot cheaper then PPC technique, 100% transparent, confident users, which makes the conversion rate a lot higher!

 

Not so sure if there are any alternative methods for generating traffic, besides the most obvious methods (paid traffic, articles, social bookmarking, SEO, blog commenting, backlinks, email marketing ++). Do your research and get to know your niche. Besides that, dont put all your eggs in one basket. Try to get visitors from as many traffic sources as possible and be visible where ever possible.

 

I think the biggest leverage in traffic (and conversion) are the Joint Ventures. By promoting yourself to a huge list, you'll not only gain instant traffic but also a stream of paying customers.

Of course, you need a good product to do that.

Or you could use things like Amazon.com, YouTube.com, MetaCafe.com etc.

The idea is to get quality traffic through one source and mine that as often as possible instead of trying to do 100 things at once.

I agree with Howard, once you have a responsive list, you don't need to worry about traffic, just focus on your list, once you have a good list, then you can
approach people for joint ventures

But you can still keep growing that list too, in the meantime
