Which affiliate program is best for advertisers?

I am considering using affiliates to help me sell products on one of my sites. I want to know:

* the benefits of doing this
* the drawbacks of doing this
* which are the cheapest affiliate sites to use
* whether it is possible to find free software/program to setup people as my affiliates
* any other useful information

I am particularly interested in hearing people's views on:

tradedoubler
clixgalore
idevaffiliate
http://jam.jrox.com/

as these are easily integrated with cubecart which I use for my store. Which affiliate program is best for advertisers?

Looking forward to hearing from people who can give me a bit more information about selling stuff using affiliate
