I'm wondering which of the affiliate networks (Clixgalore, CJ, etc.) are best? Which has the best payouts, etc, etc? (When I say best, I mean from a publishers stand point.) Any experiences you have had with any of them would be appreciated. Of course, if the network you recommend has an affiliate program itself, feel free to post your affiliate URL and I'll sign up through it. Thanks!
Hi Adam and sunchy I am not comfortable recommending the 1st nework you mentioned on top because they sometimes promote parasites and programs that are well.... thats all I can say. I also am not fond of CB because their affiliate tracking is terrible - they don't even have click tracking. I also think CB links are targeted by lots of dishonest marketers that over-write the links and steal commission. CJ is great and probably the biggest. 2 of my other best recommendations for affiliates are www.shareasale.com and http://www.linkconnector.com. Why? Both are high integrity. SAS is parasite-free. LC has the option of using 'naked' links which look like regular URLS instead of affiliate links and because of the way they work they cannot be over-written by parasites. Hope this helps and best of luck!
http://www.extrafreebies.com/webmasterfreebies.php I say Incentaclick, offersquest and primary ads do a very good job with my sites!
Nope sunchy, didn't say CJ steals commission. Didn't say that at all. I said: Was referring to ClickBank and was not saying that CB steals commish either - was saying I think lots of unethical CB affiliates do since it's easy to change CB links.
Do a G search for ClickBank Links steal commission or similar phrases and you will see tons of stuff. I just searched and this is the best article I found after a quick scan. http://www.livingnow.info/story/7168/ClickBank_Link_Theft:_Is_It_Really_That_Bad This guy did a pretty good test. Many think they are losing around 35% to clickbank theft. I have 1 CB product I have been promoting. I am SURE I have made sales as its a product lots of affiliates would buy. No one single sale has registered. Now one thing you will see a lot in the G search is companies selling link encryption software to hide CB links. Always be careful hiding links and sometimes the links won't track. With CB there is no click tracking so you can't test your links to be sure they work. Hope this helps and best of luck!
Commission Junction rocks, I've never had a problem with Clickbank either. That article on the link theft is a good read
Alternatives to Clickbank are Paydotcom, Payloadz, RegNow. All will sell digital downloads and offer affiliate tracking to various degrees. Re the earlier good suggestions Linda made re Shareasale and LinkConnector you can compare them side-by-side on this site below. Cheers, Peter
The thread starter also asked if anyone had experience with Performics. I just signed up with them and would love to hear from others about their experiences. Thanks!
I find ClickBank frustrating because they don't show me how many clicks I have with them. Also, it is very hard to find programs within the ClickBank directory. CJ is better at this as I can pull reports to see how much traffic I sent to each affiliate program I joined. Easy to find new products.
Things I like: CJ: reporting, merchant/affiliate involvement, affiliate tools, big players ShareASale: reputation, support, ease of use, solid & newbie merchants LinkShare: big players, solid network, large affiliate reach Best payouts ... Depends which merchant you sign up with & what you are promoting. Example: You can choose from 5 different 'widget' merchants within the same network, each will have their own pro's & cons. Test to determine which one converts better. Some communicate better than others, some offer feeds, promotional items, etc. What you market will determine your payout. Make 5% on a $20 item or make 5% on a $500 item. Just my 5% of 2 cents - have fun!
