Hi Is there an easy way to know which ad type and size will fit in Smartzone besides trial and error. I keep setting up Smartzones and then when I go to add the ad it says it's not suitable for Smartzone (or something similar). How do you match the type and size of an ad you want to use to a Smartzone size and type? Thanks
I always thought that it was impossible to add a 'wrong' sized banner to an incompatible Smartzone. You could always create a "Banner, Free" Smartzone with no size restrictions. If you're incapable of doing that, you can just use 'view image' (or whatever the equiv is for IE) when selecting banners, and check the dimensions before attempting to add it your Smartzone.
When you establish your smartzone you can define the banner size ie 468x60 and then just pick banners that fit that size
That's exactly what I did. Created a smartzone with banner, free size and type. Went to the ad, ticked it, clicked on add to smartzone and got an error - "an incorrect ad type has been selected, please choose another ad". I've tried this a number of times with different advertisers, different smartzones and different ads and I always get the same message. I thought I was doing something wrong but it doesn't sound like it. Will have to contact support. thanks
I know this might sound dumb (and it probably is!)... but have you actually joined up with the advertisers that you're trying to add to your Smartzone?
Don't worry about sounding dumb. It's often the little things but in this case I've not had a "duh" moment. I have definately signed up with the advertisers. Let me just clarify - If I select "Banner, Free" does that mean that any ad I choose should fit into the Smartzone? As long as I'm signed up with that particular advertiser? Or are there some ads that can't be used in Smartzone's? Cheers Gillian
