Which ads are generating more revenue? Is it the Banner ads from Google or the link unit ads or Ad units.
BAnner ads are the same as ad units. In google there are: ad units link units ad units are often the primary source of revenue since they make money in the first click. link unit needs 2 clicks. The best performer size in ad units seems to be the 336x280 pixels, with 4 images on the left side.
link units make no money for me. Users have to click on the ads after they click ont he links for you to get paid. My users are savvy to this and for some reason hate clicking them
?? what do you mean by this? I have a few link units on my website... so users have to click it once and then again for us to get paid?
thats right. i dont know if this has changed, but this was the finding a few weeks back. Its a bit dodgy but for some it works a treat. I find the wide block above the forums is the best and then the 728 * 90 on my front page. These two grab attention even if the former makes the design look a bit silly http://www.silvertails.net
I agree on 336x240 ad units - in a table, right aligned. For me, they work much better than skyscrapers in left or right columns. Link units haven't done well for me - high CTR (sometimes higher than 100%)but low revenue per click. Putting link units on same page with ad units draws revenue away from ad units. I've eliminated all but a couple of link units on my site. That is just my experience. Yours may vary.
Leaderboard adlinks unit performs consistently the best for me. It just looks more attractive to the surfer and less obviously like an ad.
