Rather than the really personal ones in that list I'd much prefer http://www.seopedia.org/ or http://www.ppcdiscussions.com/ - They are far more useful.

But that would come down to the definition of what constitutes a 'best' blog. To me, the content at least is much more valuable than something like blogged out or at times Shawn's blog - which are more for entertainment IMO.

I think this 'award' needs clarification on its criteria. Else this list will be rather useless.

 

Hmm... I'm not sure how Mike planned to define the criteria for choosing the "best" blog, but I have to agree with TOPS in this instance.

For our purposes, the blogs should have high quality information that's either:

A) Valuable to most people on the whole, rather than something specifically for entertainment reasons

B) Valuable to people in a specific niche, but with the same high quality content

 

Yes, and are we talking design? Some in that list use standard templates for instance.

A Smart car is the best car for city parking, but not for off roading or Paris - Dakar rallying... That sort of idea.

That's a good question, Tops. I think we need to clarify the different criteria for what constitutes the "best" blog, or as you mentioned above this list will be absolutely useless.

Right now, I think it's safe to say the majority of what people feel are the "best" blogs are based largely on personal preference. That's all well and dandy, but if we're going to go off of that this list would encompass hundreds of blogs. There needs to be specific guidelines set up before we can come up with an accurate list.

I agree however that there does need to be criteria before we can start slamming blogs we don't agree with.
