Keywords are not profitable. What is profitable is Niches in industries that advertise a lot and have products with good margins. Keyword phrases are used to get people to your site in a targeted fashion. Don't target keywords, use them to find high paying niches/themes/industries. Just because you have a keyword that costs the advertiser a large amount doesn't mean you'll make a lot of money from the click. There are a lot of factors that go into determining payout.
credit repair gave me 27 per click before. I would think that "foreclosure" or key phrases about fixing someone's current financial situation are good.
foreclosure, one health niche click was over $3 once, payday loan, insurance, mortgage. Anything where there is a lot of money... Only problem is that they are very competitive niches, so it might be hard to get any exposure in them...
Aye, alot of the "top paying keyword lists" you find on here are geo-targetted to the US. It is best to just do some experiementation on the Adwords tool in your area.
