I went to a bank, and they asked me far too much as a commission plus a bad exchange rate. I declined their offer and I am looking for a way to buy USD in America (Boston) without getting ripped off! Someone mentioned Federal Reserve?!? Any hints? Thanks!
The airport usually has a place where you can exchange currency. Although with new security, I am not sure if it is the public access part of the aiport. EDIT: I just looked it up and here is what it says: # Travelex Foreign Exchange Booth Location: Departure Level, Pre-Security. Currency Converter search this in Google for more details. exchange currency logan airport
True, but I would tend to believe that they are not cheap either. And I don't live far from the airport, but it still would be a hassle and it would have the extra costs of extra time to travel and to park. But thanks for the fast suggestion, very appreciated. Anybody else?
Call the number for that company and find out exchange rate before going to the airport. OR use Google: Local results for currency exchange near Boston, MA Travelex Canada - 1.2 miles SW - 745 Boylston St, Boston, 02116 - (617) 266-7560 American Express - 0.1 miles E - 1 State St, Boston, 02109 - (617) 723-8400 Barbosa Marcelino - 3.8 miles W - 177 Brighton Ave, Allston, 02134 - (617) 779-0800
You want to buy USD in exchange of what currency? Google foreign exchange open market with your zip code and you will find some. One on the airport are even more expensive then banks. I use airports one very often while traveling and they are not cheap at all. Dont waste your gas going to airport and then coming back empty handed
True. @ Jaree: GBP for USD. I had the same impression about the cost, but I'll have to make some phone calls apparently to make sure. I'll try Google again and see if I come up with some concrete info on fees, etc.
