I have been Tweeting the site and have gained a few (140) followers but i really need to get people to advertise their contests and competitions with me, would anyone have any good tips on how i could generate some interest in people posting with me?

There are plenty of ways to promote your new site.
1.You can create a podcast using Podomatic or Blogtalkradio and then submit it to podcast directories
2. Create a video about your site and submit it to Tube Mogul. This will distribute your video to multiple video sharing sites
3, Hand out business cards. You can get some free ones with vista print.
4. Write a press release and submit it to PRLog
5. Socialbookmarking- There's a free automatic socialbookmarking tool called imautomator.

 

To be honest the first place you want to start is by finding all the forums that run contest of some description join them and look around heck even post about the contest on your own forum your self and then email the other forum owner tell them what you have done to help promote their contest and ask that in future they might notify you.

Once your communtiy starts to become a hub then they will come and find you, you just need to get the ball rolling and keep up the momentum of course if you are allowed have a link to your site in your signature on the other forums.

It depends on the site, for forums you can find other related forums, and see if they would be willing to do a link exchange

It's just part of the package when you promote your site, along with the other suggestions on this thread.

Also, start posting on all the related forums you can find, with a link back to your site in your signature.
