Where will it end? Porn industry seeks $5 Billion bailout.

If you haven't already heard Larry Flint of Hustler magazine and Joe Francis of Girls Gone Wild are heading an effort to get a $5 billion bailout from the US government to help protect the adult entertainment industry. Thoug both admit the industry is currently not struggling, they feel that in this economic climate it is not worth taking any chances, and as Flint is quoted as saying in the statement; "Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex".

So, what do you think of this. Do you think Flint and Francis have any real intentions of trying to get bailout money or are they simply pointing out the absurdity in the government bailing out industries? Will this open the gates to a flood of others seeking bailouts? When and where will the government draw the line?

That is a very good point, I never even looked at it from a marketing angle. This will put their company names infront of millions of people and sure turn out a lot of sales... essentially for free... or at a minimum the cost of filing the legal papers.

So... knowing that will others now try to do use the same marketing ploy do you think? Will Flint and Francis copyright it lol?

Know a lot about Larry I would say this is a publicity stunt. I hope they are trying to call attention to how absurd our government is acting. But, at the same time, their stunt kinda ticks me off. They are probably going to waste a lot of Congress' time doing this, and they do enough of that themselves. We don't need to help Congress f**k up this country even more!

Sounds pretty funny. Do you have any sources for this "news"?

Fact is the auto industry is not the first industry and definitely not the last to get a bailout!

If they don't need the money then why take it away from people who need it.

I guess we moderators need bailout too, I need a faster Internet access line so that I can ban members with greater speed and also hand out infractions faster. Wonder what industry will be asking for a bail out next......it is getting crazy.....

The expected bailout of the porn industry is expected to increase to $50 billion :D

Members of Congress are being aggressively lobbied and there are unsubstaniated rumors that Congressional hearings will be held at the Playboy mansion.
