Google doesnt want to be the most dominant search engine, it want to own the web, where 90% of all pageviews will have Adsense. Think about every large sector of the short tail - eventually these will become 'Google projects' and turn into a url: health.google.com, etc. So eventually, most generic searches will goto a Google site.
hahahah i was about to post something close ... comet or natural disasters will wipe us out anyway.. But if i had to be realistic then i would say something like twitter or another viral online site will grab peoples attention and make it like what happened to yahoo. The thing is like with anything for you to survive you have to diversify and venture into other things which google is doing now anyway so... who knows maybe they will be like walmart thx M1
It is very much possible any other company can beat the google, looking at advance technology available now a days. And also possibilities are there that google would be more strong if they go with time/technology, here they have the advantage of having strong base and the policy they have adopted so fart.
This is a fast improving soceity here, I even can't dare to think what it would be like in 1 years. Just like going back in last year, I would never thought 3G would acturally make it into reality in China so soon. Google has got all those extreme intelligent people, they would change as the time changes and turns out new and better services as long as the internet is still there as the mainstream.
I think either it lose the kingdom like apple (previously they are the kingdom), or maintain the kingdom like microsoft
