Where you host your web site does make a difference from the search engines perspective. I don't have time to get into detail about each..but here are the factors that will affect your search engine ranking in respects to hosting. 1) The history of the ip address or ip address block that your websites IP belongs to 2) How many websites are sharing the same IP with your website 3) The geographical location of server your website is on
Hosting and seo have 2 things in common 1 . Uptime (a site downtimes affect there rankings) 2 . Location (if you whant to rank in .com.uk bether host in UK ) Regards
You can always ask your hosting company for a dedicated IP address so you are not sharing an IP with others. It usually only costs a couple of extra bucks a month. Jim
a dedicated IP will rank better from what i understood , Ip Location will make your site rank better in some countries the same with the domain extension , .de extension ( website writed in german ) will rank better in Google.de the same with co.uk , will rank better in Google.co.uk
