I use Estibot for obtaining PR, Alexa, backlinks..... info. The auto-appraisal is very approximate.

Also try Estimate Masters for domain values.

    http://www.estimatemasters.com

Yea they charge a small fee but their estimates are spot on. I have sold 3 domains in the past 6 months and each sold within about $50 of what they gave me as an estimate. Other free sites were off by about $2000!! The free sites just give you an estimate to make you think you actually have something good which is BS when you are trying to sell a domain.

Remember you always get what you pay for ;)

P.S. Estimate Masters is having a sale until Sept 15th.

    Good Luck!
    :)

Automatic appraisals are BORDERLINED BS. I say borderlined because they can give you some decent information regarding the domain, but the $$$ amount, IMO, is worthless. Ask humans in the appraisal section to give you some sort of value. Some people are nice enough to dig through old sales and give you an approximate value based on previous sales.

All auto-appraisal sites SUCK! Post in appraisal sections like here on DP or Namepros or other domain forums

Agreed. There are no auto appraisals that can tell the value of a domain name. You can ask around in forums to get opinions from other people, but normally, if you have to ask, it's probably not worth much.

For details such as Alexa,PR,links, etc, some automated appraisal services are helpful for cursory info.
For actual value, I agree, such tools are extremely unreliable.
IMO the best appraisals come from asking on several domain forums and then
picking through the responses to get the more critical, less biased, more in depth, better researched responses.
Then you can aggregate from all the appraisal threads in the various forums.

Also, for LLLL names, I find 4letternoob blog price-guide helpful.
