Where to use Co-op?

Do I run the ads on the same site I am posting ads for, or run the ads on a site and have my ads point to another one of my sites?
Seems like the latter would less likely raise a flag. Thoughts?

You can do either really. The best thing is to spread the weight around and vary the anchor text if you are worried about any penalty.

Thanks.. Finally a response. I appreciate it. My other question is around a concern over the quality sites within the co-op program..
Search engines don't just look at quantity and varying anchor text, but the sites that you link to.. MOST of the sites I have seen in this network are NOT worthy of a link.. They are sites without any real content, no page rank, just blatent attempts to get a quick fix in the SERPS with a ton of backlinks. What is your opionion on receiving a penalty for displaying links to garbage. Surely, that would result in a penalty. You obviously can't control where your ad appears, but you still have to maintain outbound links to be a participant. It seams like the better quality sites can actually get hurt linking out to sites with irrelevant/unrelated content (or no real content at all) while new sites with no rank, and no real content will get a quick boost in SERPS.

    Any thoughts?
    Thanks again

I know that all adverts are reviewed before they are added (maybe a reviewer could step in here and explain exactly what sites are and are not allowed....) so most sites should be OK.

The AUP tells gives you the guidelines, the unofficial FAQ by T0PS3O is also a good resource.
