Where to submit?

    If one is more interested in traffic than link juice what are the top places to submit my general directory to? Directory Critic and VMOptions have both been good but Directory Rate has been a flop. Budget is limited.

    If you qualify, IVS might be a good list. Same would be true for web-directories.ws. You want to buy banners or just be in the lists?

    Keeping this to the discussion topic...

    I'd focus on the niche of your site and find the specialist directories. Then look at some of their stats (ie Alexa, Compete) and see if they get human traffic - if they do then you're on the right track.

    @Sarah: He already said it's a general directory. If you planning to buy banners or advertisements from other directories / blogs, it would definitely make sense to look at traffic details (even if they might be inaccurate).

    addurl.nu will send your some traffic, and then web-directories.ws will send a little also.

    You can submit your directory here for free. The site is heavily used by web masters looking for directories. Of course the free list is the most heavily used...but the paid directories get hits too.
