Do-follow Backlinks are crucial for gaining higher page engine ranking. That is why one should submit ones blog to directories, newsfeeder sites and the like. I'm aware of http://www.technorati.com/ and that one can submit blogs there, but where else can one do so? Please give good sites here.
Thanks - I have the info.vilesilencer.com list with directories. I'm actually more interested into other sites that have strong PR, offer backlinks and are focussing on blogs.
To be honest I wouldn't even consider directories to begin with - I'd head over to link sales and buy some promotional blog posts instead. You can get quite a big bang for your buck with blog posts.
Of course you are , aren't we all. I actually went from a PR0 to a PR4 using free directories. But, I also have a blog in a small niche...well... smaller than "webmaster resources", and "make money online".
Social bookmarking sites are a really good way to promote your blog and maybe get some backlinks from people who link to your articles as a source that supports and complements their own content.
I hope this will help, I'm not sure about the Do-follow though 75 Website You Can Submit Your Blog To
Thanks, I'm going to check this one out. Some however do already look familiar. Free blog sites would also be an advantage, since I'd like to extent my blogging family a bit.
How I get some backlinks for my blog: 1) commenting on popular blogs (that have do follow comments of course) 2) blogroll exchanges with friendly blogs 3) posting on DP 4) directory submissions 5) paid banners etc etc However for new blogs, it wil take few weeks or months to see the backlinks. Google updates PR only every three months or so publicly (though they update each day at their servers)...
I'd add/comment to this (based on research and educated guessing). For 1/2, blogs should have a related subject, hence similar/relevant keywords are going to be used. For 3, indeed some links from the DP forum appeared on google. However I'm not that sure how potent this is going to be, because there are hundreds of thousands of links pointing from here. But then a decent signature from a nice forum can't do damage. Concerning directories (4) they've to be do-follow of course and I think that it really helped some of my web-sites. Always consider key words. I don't understand the use of banners (5) i.e. grafic images without anchor text.
Mybloglog, fuelmyblog, spicypage, bloggeries and etc... All the above sites are pretty good to submit your blog
