Hello, I have a new site, because it has no PR, it's very hard to find partenrs for links exchange. I have submitted it to the major serach engines, please advise what else i can do for link development? thanks.
Digg is always a great first step... gets you a high PR inlink, and gets you quickly indexed in the engines.
linkbuilding is... submit to social bookmarking lik digg, technochratie, stumbleuppon etc..submit to directory like dmoz etc.. Link Exhange etc..so much to be done..like a such lazy webmaster like me
1. You should not submit to the search engines. It's a thing from the past. Nowadays it's useless. You're wasting your time. 2. Learn the basic stuff at least: Beginner's Guide to Search Engine Optimization 3. All link building ideas ever: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=link+building+ideas

1. Add your site's link to your sign in all the forum you post. 2. Regularly keep commenting on others DoFollow blogs. Remember, they hate spam as much you do. Only backlinks from DoFollow blogs are valued by Search Engine bots and only DoFollow backlinks are included for PR. Now, how to find a blog is DoFollow or NoDoFollow? Answer is below. 3. Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us and such bookmarking sites should be helpful. Wikipedia on Social Bookmarking 4. Create articles in hubpages, eZineArticles, Squidoo with a link to your site. (I haven't tried this step bu heard.) 5. See my DP thread regarding the list of sites like yahoo answers but with DoFollow links. People who have any doubt about anything, may raise the questions in such websites, your duty is to be conscious, and when a question is raised related to your website, you post the answer and have your website link with the answer. This will not only help in link building, but also will help in receiving some traffic. 6. Last but not least, submit your site to highly ranked directory websites, like DMOZ and all. It will be hard to get approved in DMOZ though. (obviously) Never in your life, pay for listing your website in a directory. I don't think backlink from a directory is worth that much. When it is free, it is OK.
Article marketing, blog commenting, create a blog and post frequently , forum post, social bookmark everything you do. Then you can start building your list with Traffic Echanges & Safelists. So much to do so little time Jason
Your job isn't about link exchanges. Your job is simply to find out where your customers go to find your products and services. Then figure out how to get links from the places they visit online. Think about them. Too many people worry about every little trick and tip and supposed foolproof technique that everyone else is using. I came a cross a site in one of the Industry Markets I work that had their Stats public. They had been around a very long time and have a huge amount of traffic - albiet a lot of junk traffic. Only 5% of their traffic was coming from Google. The vast majority of their traffic was coming from other sites in their industry. And I couldn't see a link exchange anywhere on their site.
I start with social bookmarking, ask for a free link exchange with other members, and also do some bloghopping (leave comments on other blogs). This will help.
