The fact that google no longer updates PR for existing websites pretty much screws any plans of increasing PR.

 

I think if you are not doing article submissions then you should start consontrating more on the same. Quality articles can help you lot to get one way links. you can use service from PRWeb.com

It sounds to me like it could even be an ego thing. Many times people with a lot of money and success are used to getting what they want. If PR7 is what the guy wants, he's probably not going to let it go until he gets it. But in all reality, I agree with most others here. You get the best return with a higher traffic flow, and concentrating on your conversion rate. Ego's are easy to inflate, but sometimes it's hard to get all the air out.

 

There is no client....I could get a PR8 with $10,000 easily....

 

I admit that I am (slightly) biased here, but with 20k to spend, I would forget about PR and instead invest the money into making the web site multilingual.

Only 29% of the internet population use English as their first language, and that market is highly competitive.

Put the site into four other languages and get a 500% increase in site traffic.

Compared to getting one more PR point, it is a no brainer.

I think that linkbaiting and Article writing and submission are definetily the best options to spend those money - you will get links => higher PR and better rankings.

 

Take the $20K and have some amazing service created for your website that people will link to all day long for free and bring people back to the site over and over. Call it link bait or whatever.

hmm 20k is a lot i think i will spend it in usability improvemnt, more quality contents, link baiting, and link buying to a authority sites.

with $20K, I will buy links, lots of links. Buy links from high PR websites with related content. Also, get paid listings with popular web directories like Yahoo, business.com, etc..

 

link directorys, sponsored ads, text ads, advertising and getting more traffic will increase the page rank

 

why not use it for off-line advertisement ?!?

Buy PR7 links I know theres lots of sales going on right now.

If you really have 20k to spend, buy PR6-8 links no less.
After that, hire some people to do manual directory submissions.
Buy a listing in Yahoo DIR.

Buy Paid Posters and get like 5000-10,000 post jobs to help increase your site if you have forums.

More post and high PR gets LOTS of INDEXED pages in GOOGLE, if you don't believe me check Digitalpoint

 

offline marketing is good also but if you want fast increase of convertion to your website make it online.
